Sex objects: Pictures shift men’s view of women | Science | guardian.co.uk.

“Men are more likely to think of women as objects if they have looked at sexy pictures of females beforehand, psychologists said yesterday.  Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated. […] “They’re reacting to these women as if they’re not fully human,” Fiske said.”

Hmmm. And we wonder why pornography is so destructive to society as a whole.

I’ve linked to some resources for those looking to reclaim their purity, their marriages, or their healthy sexual relationships and end the cycle of pornography addiction….

I could not agree more that porn will lead men to objectify women. In fact the entire secular culture treats women as objects. Take a look a the magazines at your local convenience store or watch MTV where almost every girl is dressed immodestly.

Girls growing up watching The Jersey Shore want to be like the girls in the show. No one is teaching them to respect themselves as young women who are a gift just because the ate children of God.

It is sad and I pray that we will convert the hearts of those who devalue women.

Cinhosa, this is so true. This is definitely what I was getting at with the previous post, “10 things I want to tell teenage girls.”

    Thanks for the support!
