More Americans tailoring religion to fit their needs – USATODAY.com.

“”The September edition of Moment asks ‘Can their be Judaism without God?’ And most say yes. It’s incredibly exciting. We live in an era where you pick and choose the part of the religion that makes sense to you. And you can connect through culture and history in a meaningful way without necessarily religiously practicing,” Epstein says.”

I am sickened to my core.  How is this the answer?  Instead of reaching for attainment of a self-improvement / self- perfection as something we know is possible from historical perspective and giving ourselves guidelines to which we must adapt ourselves to overcome weaknesses and intrinsic tendencies, we’ll just adapt the guidelines to fit us as we already are, that way we can feel better about ourselves and the world will be a happy rainbow filled place.

La-la-la, I am the world and the world is me, happiness and rainbows.

No wonder our country is in such disrepair.
